Moedi believes in assisting in the development of communities, individuals and organisations. Through its social investment programme, Moedi strives to contribute to a better, safer community in which people are given the opportunities and the tools to reach their full potential.
This commitment to the communities we have the privilege of working in is as evident in for example MOEDI’s expanding project management and supervisory role with the ambit of low cost housing. however, this extends to active participation in consulting on process and infrastructure development within the ambit of critical service delivery, in for example our specialization in water storage, treatment and management.
The company has and is involved in a number of turnkey projects where it is mandated to source, train, manage and supervise service delivery from local suppliers, labour and sub-contractors. These projects are aimed at empowering, skilling and broadly benefiting local communities by the innovative approach to delivery of the mandated solution.
The focus is on labour-intensive, labour-based and community-based projects. Labour-based contracting is applied to ensure community participation and the upliftment of the poor. Projects revolving around labour-based construction are aimed at generating employment through job creation for local contractors, entrepreneurs and residents.
Moedi has been closely involved in promoting the development of emerging contractors and also been involved in several labour-construction projects of varying size and scope.
Moedi continues to fulfil its social responsibility in the communities where projects are awarded to the company. The company has and continues to award financial support to deserving causes and / or community based projects and / or organisations for the direct benefit of the community in question. The value of such contributions shall always be in relation to the size and nature of projects and the fee income generated on each specific project.
